We are looking for a General Accountant with strong knowledge of accounting practices and hands-on experience in day-to-day company finance operations. The ideal candidate should be experienced in UAE market accounting, have good English communication skills, and be capable of handling all routine financial and reporting tasks independently — from VAT filing to petty cash and monthly reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day accounting operations (journal entries, payables, receivables, bank reconciliations).

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and statements in line with UAE accounting standards.

• Manage petty cash transactions, employee expense claims, and reimbursements.

• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with FTA regulations.

• Record and reconcile supplier invoices, subcontractor payments, and client collections.

• Maintain inventory, project cost tracking, and basic job costing records related to construction and fit-out projects.

• Support the monthly closing process — accruals, adjustments, and balance sheet schedules.

• Assist in audit preparation, documentation, and responding to auditor queries.

• Handle bank correspondence, cheques, and online payments.

• Support payroll data compilation and WPS uploads when needed.

• Provide accurate and timely financial reports to management.

• Coordinate with procurement, site, and admin teams for payment and billing accuracy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 2–4 years of accounting experience in the UAE (preferably in construction, contracting, or fit-out sector).

• Strong knowledge of VAT rules, accounting entries, and reconciliations.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho, or similar).

• Good communication and reporting skills in English (Arabic is a plus).

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.

• Honest, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
