Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Beirut, Lebanon
Department: Finance
Reports To: Finance Manager / Financial Controller
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations, ensure compliance with Lebanese regulations and IFRS standards, and support financial reporting and internal control processes. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting management in financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with IFRS and Lebanese GAAP.
Manage general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Supervise AP and AR processes.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on collections.
Ensure timely vendor payments and reconciliations.
Bank & Reconciliation
Perform bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Tax & Compliance
Prepare and review VAT declarations.
Ensure compliance with Lebanese tax regulations and NSSF requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
Budgeting & Analysis
Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights to management.
Support cost control initiatives.
Internal Controls
Maintain and strengthen internal control procedures.
Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for all transactions.
Identify process improvement opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5–8 years of accounting experience (preferably in corporate / FMCG / trading sector).
Strong knowledge of IFRS and Lebanese tax regulations.
Experience in ERP systems (SAP, Odoo, Oracle, or similar).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Fluency in Arabic and English (French is a plus).
