1. Purpose
CARE established its presence in Lebanon in 2006 and has been responding to the Syrian Crisis since late 2012. Among CARE’s key imperatives is putting people it serves first through implementing cutting edge programming in areas it operates. CARE currently carries out activities in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Akkar, North Lebanon, South Lebanon, and the Beqaa Valley. CARE implements both emergency and development projects contributing to livelihood, food security, protection, gender, shelter, and water, sanitation, and hygiene. It targets the most vulnerable people and populations, both host communities and refugees. Over the course of 7 years, it has supported over half a million beneficiaries.
In Lebanon, CARE’s program strategy for the upcoming years will focus on strengthening and expanding its emergency response and capacity to provide basic assistance services while pursuing development projects in areas of food security and livelihood support, gender and protection. CARE intends to maintain its presence in all areas of Lebanon.
CARE Lebanon has scaled up rapidly over the past few years and today it has about 90 staff members, with more than 15 different local/international partner organizations. 90% of the team is composed of national staff, with a symbolic number of international members.
The accounts Officer has the responsibility of ensuring accurate documentation before proceeding of bank & cash payment, based on donors’ requirements. She/he will be responsible for preparing bank reconciliation & cash count without any discrepancies. Also, she/he will assist the accounts manager in all yearly closures of accounts.

4. Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibility #1: Banking, Cash
Working in close collaboration with the Senior Accounting Officer - Assistant
• Preparing transfer letters/bank letters and saving them in the accounting file on the server.
• Collecting bank receipts from the bank and organizing them on the server.
• Issuing cash receipts for vendors, staff, or beneficiaries.
Responsibility #2: Accounting Procedure and Financial Management
• Stamping all invoices as "PAID" immediately after the payment is processed and before scanning/filing.
• Assisting with internal and external audits in collaboration with the Finance and Grant teams.
Responsibility #3: Documentation and filing:
• Scanning and filing all processed payments by voucher number as recorded in PeopleSoft.
• Sending Payslips for all staff at the end of each month.
• Scanning and organizing all collected bank receipts and expat payslips
• Organizing all other documents related to the accounting department
Responsibility #4: Any other related assignment as directed by the supervisor.
5. Qualifications
• One year of experience in the accounting field with a strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting software; familiarity with networking systems is a plus.
• Significant experience working with gender professionals and international stakeholders at a senior level.
• Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build robust internal relationships and networks.
• Self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative and international environment.
b. Experience
At least 0-1 years of relevant experience, academic organizations, standard-setting bodies, public agencies fi)Cused on , NGO experience is a plus.
c. Academic Background
Bachelor’s degree in one or several of the following areas: Accounting and Finance
d. Languages
English and/ or Arabic are the working language of CARE International in Lebanon.
Knowledge of other languages is an asset but not mandatory.
