Overview

A well-established creative agency is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations across its UAE and Iraq entities. This role is ideal for someone with strong multi-entity accounting experience, regional exposure, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

Manage end-to-end accounting for UAE and Iraq entities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

Handle general ledger activities, reconciliations, and closing processes

Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal policies

Tax & Compliance

Oversee UAE VAT filings and compliance

Coordinate with external consultants for Iraq tax and regulatory matters

Support audits and ensure proper documentation

Receivables, Payables & Cash Flow

Monitor invoicing, collections, and client aging

Manage vendor payments and expense tracking

Track and report cash flow across entities

Budgeting & Analysis

Assist in budgeting and forecasting cycles

Analyze variances and provide actionable insights

Support management with financial reporting and decision-making

Project & Agency Accounting

Manage project-based accounting (WIP, revenue recognition)

Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate billing and cost allocation

Analyze profitability by client and project

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5–8 years of relevant experience (agency or multi-entity preferred)

Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations

Experience with cross-border accounting and multi-currency environments

Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) is an advantage

Skills

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Advanced Excel and accounting systems knowledge

Strong communication skills (English required; Arabic is a plus)
