About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant (Acting Accounting Lead) to join our travel agency in Cairo. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is ready to take ownership of the full airline accounting cycle while stepping into a leadership capacity.

You will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy across complex travel transactions, and supporting strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily accounting operations within the travel agency
• Handle airline accounting, including ticketing, refunds, ADM/ACM, and supplier transactions
• Prepare and submit BSP reports and manage settlements accurately
• Perform reconciliations for airline suppliers, GDS transactions, and PSP accounts, resolving discrepancies proactively
• Track financial transactions across GDS systems (Amadeus GDS, Sabre, Galileo GDS)
• Monitor and reconcile Payment Service Provider (PSP) transactions (e.g., Paymob, Stripe)
• Prepare monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and business growth
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies
• Collaborate with different departments to optimize financial processes
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff when needed

Job Requirements

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a travel agency or airline environment (strongly preferred)
• Hands-on experience with BSP reporting and airline reconciliation
• Practical experience using GDS systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo)
• Strong understanding of travel-related financial flows (ticketing, refunds, commissions)
• Experience handling high-volume transactions with accuracy
• Strong financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting skills
• Solid knowledge of tax compliance and financial regulations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Good communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Leadership potential or prior experience mentoring team members
