A Junior Shared Accountant plays a vital role in managing a companys financial obligations by ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments to suppliers and vendors. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals starting their careers in finance or accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: Receive verify and enter supplier invoices into the accounting system ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

• Payment Preparation: Assist in preparing and executing payment runs including electronic transfers and checks in accordance with agreed payment terms.

• Vendor Communication: Respond to supplier inquiries resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships with vendors.

• Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and organized financial records including filing of invoices and payment confirmations.

• Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling vendor statements and resolving any outstanding issues to ensure accounts are up to date.

• Support Month-End Closing: Contribute to the month-end closing process by providing necessary documentation and reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting or finance is advantageous.

• Attention to Detail: Ability to process financial data accurately and identify discrepancies.

• Organizational Skills: Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication abilities for interacting with vendors and internal teams.

• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
