Senior Accountant – Power Sector Project

AZOROM is seeking a Senior Accountant for an upcoming power sector consultancy assignment in Alexandria, Egypt.

The project involves the upgrade of the Alexandria Regional Control Centre (ARCC), including SCADA/EMS systems, telecommunications, RTUs, fibre optic works, and associated control centre building/facility upgrades. The assignment will support the client through tender preparation, EPC procurement, construction supervision, and warranty-period support.

Role overview The Senior Accountant will support the financial management, reporting, and audit-related requirements of the project. This will include assisting with project expenditure records, contractor payment documentation, disbursement requests, and financial reporting in line with client and financier requirements.

Key responsibilities may include:Supporting financial management of project-related activities Maintaining accurate and auditable project expenditure records Assisting with the review of EPC Contractor invoices Supporting the preparation and issuance of payment certificates Assisting with disbursement requests to the project financier Supporting financial inputs to monthly, quarterly, annual, and completion reports Assisting with financial audit requirements and providing documentation to auditors as needed Supporting the preparation of disbursement plans and financial tracking tools Coordinating with the project team on budget, expenditure, and reporting matters

Minimum requirements B. Sc. in Accounting or a closely related discipline Fluent English At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in accounting Experience supporting financial management, reporting, or audit processes on infrastructure, energy, utilities, or EPC projects would be an advantage Experience with internationally financed projects and donor/financier reporting requirements would be beneficial Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial documentation systems
