Scope of Service

The Accountant Intern will support the finance team in daily accounting and administrative tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting with data entry and maintaining accounting records.
  • Supporting accounts payable.
  • Assisting in bank reconciliations and cash tracking.
  • Preparing supporting documentation for audits and financial reviews.
  • Filing and organizing financial documents and records.
  • Assisting in inventory and stock reconciliation when needed.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal financial procedures and donor requirements.
  • Performing other finance-related tasks assigned by supervisors.

 

Key Deliverables 

  • Accurate and timely entry of financial transactions into the accounting system.
  • Properly organized and updated financial documentation and filing system.
  • Assistance in preparing financial reports and reconciliations.
  • Timely support in audit preparation and document collection.
  • Completion of assigned finance and administrative tasks within agreed deadlines.
  • Regular updates to supervisors on assigned tasks and progress.

 

Timeframe and Reporting

The internship duration is three (3) months and will be based in Beirut, Lebanon. The Accountant Intern will report directly to the accounting manager and Senior Finance Manager. Regular progress updates and task reporting will be required based on departmental needs and organizational procedures. 

 

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or currently pursuing a degree).
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred.
