Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer position within the Finance department based in Gaza Strip.
Job Purpose: Support the Finance Coordinator by ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes and collaboration with the finance team, from timely payments to stakeholders to proper closing the funds reports. Play an active role in collecting the required data and documents of the projects to enable the finance coordinator well monitoring projects’ budgets, expenses, and progress. Provide support for the finance coordinator to overseeing the management of assets, and maintaining organized projects files. Additionally, the Finance Officer contributes to follow up the partners compliance, provides accurate financial reporting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Facilitate accurate and efficient financial processes, through review invoices, payment requests, and supporting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy. Process timely payments to vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the finance team, to streamline financial workflows and address any discrepancies, assist in maintaining an organized filing system for financial records, and provide input during financial planning and budgeting discussions.
- Guarantee the accuracy of all data required for processing financial transactions into QuickBooks by properly organizing and verifying supporting documentation.
- Assist in prepare and submit monthly cash and bank resource reconciliations for timely review by the Finance Coordinator.
- Prepare and review providers’ balance reports on a monthly basis to maintain accurate financial records.
- Coordinate the preparation and collection of payroll acknowledgment receipts from staff after salary disbursements.
- Collect and organize projects data, gather necessary financial data and documentation to support the Finance Coordinator in monitoring project budgets, track expenses and progress of various projects to ensure compliance with approved budgets, and update relevant financial records to reflect current project status and funding.
- Assist in sssets management, through maintain an up-to-date record of all organizational assets, including purchase details and custodian assignments, verify asset movements and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained, and support the Finance Coordinator in periodic asset audits for accuracy and accountability.
- Contribute to compliance and reporting, supporting the finance coordinator to monitor partner activities and records to ensure compliance with financial policies and agreements, compile financial data for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain organized project files, ensure all financial documents and correspondence are properly labeled, stored, and easily accessible,.
- Support the Finance Coordinator, provide timely updates and insights on financial activities to aid in decision-making, assist in budget revisions and forecasts based on project needs and performance, and undertake any additional tasks as assigned to enhance financial efficiency and compliance.

Candidate essential criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role, preferably within the humanitarian or INGO sector
- Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
Candidate desirable criteria:
- Professional Accounting certificate (e.g. ACPA, CPA, ACA, ACMA, ACCA, FMD) is an asset.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
