Job Purpose

Under the direct management of the Site Management Technical Coordinator. The Community Mobilization & Accountability Assistant is responsible for supporting and overseeing Site Management community mobilization and accountability activities including strengthening committees at site level with different stakeholders and engagement with various Site Focal Points.

The role combines both strategic information management functions and operational site-level support, ensuring consistency, quality, and usability of data across all sites. The IM Officer also ensures that information is effectively communicated to humanitarian partners, clusters/sectors, and site populations, while maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards .

Objective

To support and oversee different SM activities relating to community mobilization and accountability, to strengthen the full SM package. This includes supporting communication and coordination with different stakeholders, setting up coordination meetings, conducting service monitoring, establishing Site Executive Committees (SEC) and follow-up to enhance site-level governance, and deliver trainings with SEC members and community leaders to ensure accountability to affected populations. 

Responsibilities

Data quality and management

  • Leading in the creation or strengthening of SM teams and Site Executive Committes (SEC) so that the appointment of committee members is done transparently and inclusively, and that ToRs are created and signed in a participatory manner and agreed upon by all stakeholders
  • Conduct regular operational meetings with all relevant stakeholders 
  • Conduct focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and observations for various SM activities and support in the updating of demographic data monthly in collaboration with SMC IMO
  • Follow up community events led by committees and support such activities to ensure the community participation is effective and comprehensive
  • Set up Accountability and Feedback Mechanism (AFM), sensitize residents on it, and ensure regular feedback and follow up
  • Receive and acknowledge receipt of complaints formulated through the AFM and actively seeking out feedback with the community
  • Channel complaints to the people responsible for follow-up
  • Maintain consistent, confidential and detailed records of all complaints
  • Analyze patterns and trends in complaints and regularly share reports and findings with line manager, to identify and discuss lessons learnt, and help Acted improve its site management
  • Collaborate closely with other Acted teams and/or activities operating in the sites
  • Ensure that all the needed administrative documentation is scanned and filed monthly
  • Submit daily/weekly, monthly and close out reports to SMC TC

Other Duties

Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Technical Coordinator/Line Manager

Job Requirement (Qualification and Experience)

  1. Required:
  • University degree
  • Minimum 3 years of total work experience with humanitarian organizations
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with NGOs working in IDP sites, collective shelters etc.
  • Strong communication skills and being able to adapt to different audiences
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken)
  1. Preferred:
  • Experience working with Site Management Stakeholders
  • Experience working with data collection tools
  • Previous experience providing training and awareness sessions
