Location: Mission Development Office (MDO)
Reports to: Financial Manager & General Director
Position Summary
The Mission Development Office (MDO) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance & Mission Development Assistant to support the financial and administrative operations of our mission projects. The successful candidate will assist with budgeting, financial reporting, documentation, and office administration while contributing to the organization's faith-based mission and commitment to serving vulnerable communities.
Key Responsibilities
Mission Project & Financial Support
Project Budgeting: Assist in drafting budgets for the organization's development projects and programs.
Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with internal standards and donor requirements.
Center Coordination: Liaise with mission centers to collect, verify, and organize supporting financial documentation.
Transaction Recording: Record daily financial transactions accurately and assist in preparing payment vouchers and receipts.
Audit Readiness: Compile and organize supporting documentation for project audits and donor reporting.
Banking: Assist with bank reconciliations and general cash management activities.
Office Administration & Document Management
Data Digitization: Scan, digitize, and maintain organized electronic records of financial and project documents.
Filing Systems: Manage both physical and digital filing systems to ensure efficient document retrieval.
Compliance: Follow organizational financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
General Assistance: Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by the Financial Manager and Office Manager to support the smooth operation of the Mission Development Office.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
0–2 years of relevant experience (internships are welcome).
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualities
Strong alignment with the organization's faith-based values and mission.
Demonstrated compassion, patience, and respect when working with vulnerable communities.
High level of integrity, discretion, and ethical judgment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial staff.
