The Senior Manager Tax Back Office is responsible for managing tax compliance for the Al-Futtaim Group entities in Egypt. This includes driving and executing the effective tax management model, overseeing tax record-keeping processes, and coordinating with tax professionals. The role is critical in ensuring tax compliance, accurate tax reporting, and effective tax document management, contributing significantly to organizational efficiency and financial effectiveness.

Tax compliance
Ensure correct and timely filing of all tax returns based on country-specific tax calendars.
Prepare and review direct/indirect tax returns with support from business finance and external tax advisors.

Tax community
Coordinate with business finance teams in Egypt.
Work closely with Al-Futtaim Group Tax, divisional tax managers, and other tax professionals.

Tax accounting
Record necessary tax journal entries and manage tax provision tracking.
Handle tax balances on the general ledger and compute tax liabilities.

Tax document management
Ensure all documents are collected on a central database.
Handle requests for information and maintain adequate tax documentation for audit purposes.

Tax controversy
Prepare and submit timely responses to queries from tax authorities.
Liaise with tax authorities in Egypt and external tax consultants to resolve queries and investigations.

Transfer pricing
Ensure adherence to transfer pricing regulations and maintain proper documentation under group tax direction.

Tax reporting
Prepare various tax schedules for internal tax reporting as requested by management.

Automation
Resolve tax-related system issues in coordination with IT.
Actively identify and support automation initiatives.

Tax inspections
Serve as the focal point of contact with tax authorities for all required inspections.
Manage relations and documentation with support from tax consultants to achieve optimal inspection results.

General responsibilities
Liaise with relevant managers to ensure collaboration and understanding of critical topics.
Contribute to business excellence initiatives and process improvements.
Maintain and upgrade professional knowledge and skills through continuous learning.

• Tax technical skills and tax accounting
• Project management skills
• Accounting and ERP knowledge (preferably SAP)

• Certified in tax, finance or accounting
• Fluent in Arabic and English (written and verbal)
• Essential Egyptian tax knowledge
• 10-12 years of Egypt tax experience
