Role Description

The accountant role at Al Sharkawy Advanced Systems is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo, Egypt. The accountant will handle day-to-day financial operations, including recording and posting journal entries, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank and ledger accounts. The role includes preparing invoices, tracking expenses, assisting with budgeting, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The accountant will help prepare financial reports and analysis for management, ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations, and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records. Collaboration with internal departments, external auditors, and vendors is expected to support smooth financial workflows and sound decision-making.

Qualifications

Strong skills in general accounting, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation. Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable, invoicing, and expense tracking. Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and basic financial analysis. Solid understanding of local accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in Egypt. Ability to work with accounting software and spreadsheets; familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage. Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a structured team environment. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus. Prior experience in construction, engineering, or industrial companies is preferred but not required.
