Médecins du Monde (MdM) France is an international medical organization, which has been present in the Palestinian territory since 1995. It operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank (WB) through offices located in Jerusalem, Bir Zeit, and Nablus.

MdM is currently looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Finance Assistant  based in Nablus.

Number of vacancies: one

Duration: 1 year, renew of contract depend on availability of Fund

Start date: ASAP.

Location: Nablus

I.                MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Main responsibilities and activities of MdM Finance Assistant can imply modification according to the context, the organization of the work and to the composition of the team.

  1. Financial Responsibilities
  • Record monthly financial transactions in the Saga system, ensuring correct invoice entries with appropriate coding.
  • Process payments, invoices, receipts, and other financial transactions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial documents, ensuring proper filing and safekeeping in accordance with MdM policies.
  • Prepare monthly cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Verify expense reports from field teams, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with payroll preparation for local staff, ensuring timely salary disbursement.

Cash and budget management

  • Oversee petty cash management and ensure accurate tracking of cash advances and expenditures.
  • Conduct daily cash counts and reconciliations in coordination with the Admin Manager.
  • Support in managing cash flow, including forecasting.
  • Monitor bank balances and liaise with the bank on financial matters when required.
  • Assist in tracking expenditure against approved budgets, flagging any discrepancies.

Compliance and risk management

  • Ensure all financial activities comply with local laws, donor regulations, and MdM policies.
  • Identify and report potential financial risks or irregularities to the Line Manager

Reporting and analysis

  • Prepare monthly financial and accounting reports, including cash flow statements and expenditure tracking.
  • Monitor exchange rates and provide updates to ensure accurate financial planning
  1. Security
  • Implement and comply with MdM security rules and regulations.

متطلبات الوظيفة

Requested Skills and Competence:

Education:

  • Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Desirable: additional certificates in finance or accounting would be a plus.

Experience:

  • Mandatory: a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Desirable:
    • a minimum of 1 year’s work experience in an I/NGO.
    • Experience handling multi-donor budget would be an advantage,

Languages:

  • Mandatory: Strong communication skills in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).

Computer Skills:

  • Mandatory: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Desirable: Familiarity with Familiarity with financial management software (e.g., Saga or any other ERP system) would be an asset.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently.
