Job Description

B. Basic Functions and Scope of the Job:

The accountant position involves managing financial records, ensuring compliance, supporting reporting processes, and requiring varying levels of technical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities, with more experienced roles taking on greater responsibility for financial analysis, leadership, and strategy.

C. Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

D. Summary of Responsibilities/Duties:

Primary Duties:

1. Record Financial Transactions: Accurately input daily transactions into accounting systems.
2. Assist with Month-End Closures: Help with reconciling accounts and ensuring data is up to date for month-end reporting.
3. Prepare Basic Financial Reports: Create simple financial summaries like income statements and trial balances under supervision.
4. Support Tax Filing: Gather necessary documents and assist with preparing tax filings.
5. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and customer collections efficiently.
6. Monitor Expenses: Track and categorize expenses to ensure proper budgeting.

Secondary Duties:

1. Assist in Audits: Help organize documents and answer basic queries from auditors.
2. Learn Accounting Systems: Gain experience using accounting software and tools to improve efficiency.
3. Follow Internal Policies: Adhere to established financial processes and help identify minor discrepancies.
4. Collaborate on Reports: Work with senior accountants to produce detailed reports or analyses.
5. Contribute to Projects: Provide support on small parts of larger financial initiatives, such as budget preparation or cost tracking.

Job Requirements

E. Type of Skills and/or Licensing/Certification Required:

• Basic understanding of accounting principles (e.g., GAAP or IFRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
• Knowledge of Egyptian tax laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of Kuwaiti laws and regulations.
