Job Summary:
The Accounts Assistant supports the finance team by performing day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks. This role involves managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in preparing reports to ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
Match purchase orders with invoices.
Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on overdue invoices.
2. Bank Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports.
3. Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Input data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
4. Payroll Assistance:
Support payroll processing by preparing employee payment records.
Ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements.
5. Tax and Compliance:
Assist in preparing VAT, GST, or other tax returns.
Ensure all financial transactions adhere to company policies and regulations.
6. Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Support audits by gathering relevant financial data and documentation.
7. Administrative Duties:
Handle correspondence with suppliers and clients regarding financial matters.
Respond to finance-related queries and requests.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Prior experience in a similar role
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with accounting software.
