Position Title: Director / Senior Director - Internal Audit
Location: Dammam, Saudi Arabia
We have a challenging opportunity open for the role of Director in our Energy & Utilities practice. This critical leadership role requires a seasoned professional with experience in managing portfolios in the Oil & Gas and Manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will bring strong consulting experience, particularly with Big 4 firms, and possess a track record of business development in these sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management: Manage and oversee the Oil & Gas and Manufacturing portfolios for Internal Audit across multiple clients.
- Team Management: Supervise and lead internal audit teams, ensuring delivery of high-quality services while fostering team development and collaboration.
- Middle East Experience: Must have significant experience in managing client relationships and internal audit operations within the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia.
- Business Development: Grow existing accounts and attract new business, identifying and capitalizing on opportunities across the GCC region.
- P&L Management: Responsible for managing P&L, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, and driving revenue growth.
- Consulting Expertise: Provide consulting services such as market assessment, regulatory analysis, financial modeling, and operational efficiency improvement for the energy and utilities sectors.
Role Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of industry experience in internal audit, consulting, advisory, or professional services with a strong focus on the Oil & Gas and Manufacturing industries.
- Consulting Background: Experience working with a leading consulting firm (preferably from the Big 4) and business development experience.
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree, with a Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Strategy, Operations, Economics, or a related field from a top-tier institution.
- Language Skills: The ideal candidate should be bilingual in Arabic or a non-bilingual (Western) consultant with strong fluency in English.
- Oil & Gas Experience: In-depth knowledge of the Oil & Gas sector, including but not limited to exploration & production, marketing, pipelines, shale gas, conventional & alternate energy, and power & water generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate client risk areas across various business processes and assist in developing risk-based annual internal audit plans.
- Supervise internal audit teams, ensuring project delivery within timelines and budgets while maintaining quality standards.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and industry contacts to foster business development and growth.
- Lead the preparation and execution of audit programs and Risk & Control Matrix (RCM) development.
- Monitor projects to ensure timely and quality delivery, assisting in proposal development and managing client relationships.
- Engage in business development, preparing and tracking proposals and conducting meetings with potential and existing clients.
- Represent the firm in industry forums, ensuring firm inclusion in key RFPs in the region.
- Mentor and develop internal audit teams through effective hiring, training, and evaluation processes.
Desired Profile:
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in the Oil & Gas or Energy sectors, ideally with expertise across multiple areas like oil exploration, production, pipeline, gas (including shale gas), conventional/alternative energy, and power & utilities.
- Leadership & Team Management: Strong leadership skills, including team management and performance evaluation in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Client Relationship: Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with senior executives at both prospective and existing clients.
- High-Level Communication: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with experience in preparing and presenting to senior-level audiences.
- Travel Flexibility: Must be willing to travel and work in other locations as required.
