Job Purpose:
The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, control, and reporting functions of the Construction and Building Division. The role ensures financial health, supports strategic decision-making, and enables project profitability through strong cost control, risk management, and compliance with financial standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with division and corporate objectives.
- Advise senior management on financial planning, investment decisions, and funding requirements.
- Lead the finance team and ensure effective resource planning and capacity development.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare annual budgets and long-term forecasts in collaboration with project and operational teams.
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide variance analysis.
- Support project-specific financial planning and cost estimation.
Project & Cost Control
- Oversee financial controls for all construction projects, including budgeting, billing, and cost tracking.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure cost discipline and early warning on budget overruns.
- Implement financial KPIs to monitor project profitability and cash flow.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS/local GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Manage internal and external audits and liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor cash flow forecasts and ensure liquidity for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Manage banking relationships, financing arrangements, and investment of surplus funds.
- Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and working capital management.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Identify financial risks across projects and implement mitigation strategies.
- Establish strong internal controls to prevent fraud, misuse of funds, and non-compliance.
- Ensure financial integrity in procurement, subcontracting, and project billing processes.
ERP/Finance Systems Oversight
- Lead implementation or enhancement of financial systems (e.g., ERP, project cost management tools).
- Ensure system integration with procurement, HR, and project management for real-time financial tracking.
المهارات
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in finance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position in the construction or engineering sector.
- Strong understanding of project accounting, construction cash flow cycles, and cost control.
- Experience in handling high-value, multi-site projects and joint ventures.
