Senior Financial Accountant
Location: Onshore, Resident, Doha, Qatar
Contract Type: Secondment Contract
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 31 December 2026
Working Pattern: Office-based, 5 days on / 2 days off, 8 hours per day
Notice Period: 2 months

Overview
We are working on behalf of a leading organisation in the energy sector to recruit an experienced Senior Financial Accountant. This role offers a long-term opportunity within a high-profile financial reporting environment, contributing to statutory tax compliance and financial governance activities in a dynamic, multinational setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and act as backup to the Tax Reporting Coordinator in managing contract tax reporting (sales and purchase contracts) to the local tax authority, ensuring accurate and timely submission.

  
  

• Assist the Senior Tax Accountant with various tax-related tasks as needed.

  
  

• Provide backup support for WBS master data maintenance and contribute to other key activities within the General Accounting team.

  
  

• Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  
  

• Maintain adherence to financial regulations and local tax laws, particularly regarding income tax requirements.

  
  

Requirements

Experience and Skills

• Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail.

  
  

• High level of numerical and analytical proficiency.

  
  

• Proactive, flexible, and a collaborative team player with solid interpersonal skills.

  
  

• Rigorous approach to accuracy and problem-solving.

  
  

• In-depth knowledge of local tax legislation, particularly income tax regulations.

  
  

• Solid grounding in accounting principles and practices.

  
  

• Proficient in using enterprise and productivity tools such as SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  
  

• At least 6 to 7 years of relevant experience in a similar finance or accounting role, ideally within the Oil and Gas sector.

  
  

Education and Certifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  
  

• Holder of a professional accounting certification such as ACCA, CMA, or MBA.

  
  

• Fluent in English.
