With the strategic rapid growth of our luxury brands in Qatar at IHG Hotels and Resorts, we are looking for a seasoned Cost Clerk/Receiving In charge with luxury and lifestyle brand hotel experiences to join our team in Doha.

Just a stone’s throw from the many favourite sights of the Qatari capital, the hotel will welcome guests and locals to experience its 283 guest rooms, including suites and serviced apartments, and to enjoy a multitude of unique dining options.

Here’s a little taste of your day-to-day:

Cost Clerk:

  • To verify that officer checks (duty meals), F&B entertainment checks are processed according to the procedure and to prepare a daily entertainment report. 
  • To calculate cost of all recipes, inter-kitchen transfer as well as any food and beverage consumed by the hotel employee.
  • To open/change F&B menu items in POS and maintain independent control of F&B menu from restaurants & bar.
  • To define min/max, par stock management system and ensure the strict compliance with by all parties concerned.
  • To control all goods received and delivered in/out hotel main stores are properly documented and accounted for.
  • To perform daily/monthly food and beverage sales reconciliation using POS-generated sales analysis report and ensure that all discrepancies are explained. 
  • To perform monthly physical count of all warehouse and operation stocks and month-end inventory closing in the strict respect of the hotel procedures, with final balances reconciled with general ledger month-end balance. 
  • To report the daily and monthly F&B costs with emphasis and detailed analysis on exceptional variances, trend of cost of sales ratios, slow moving items, breakage & loss, etc.
  • Conduct and coordinate with Chief Steward, F&B and Housekeeping to count operating equipment of each twice per year.

Receiving In charge:

  • To ensure that all goods received are properly supported by valid hotel purchase orders. 
  • To examine both quality and quantity of goods received in coordination with related department before accepting the delivery. 
  • To ensure that goods are promptly moved to store or concerned department once received. 
  • To ensure that outgoing goods are properly documented and accounted for. 
  • To closely monitor with Purchaser all pending or partial deliveries. 
  • To be responsible for recording and distributing reports as per hotel policies and procedures, such as duly signed individual receiving record, receiving report, etc.
  • To coordinate with the purchasing department in regards to delivery issues.
  • Stamps all invoices and delivery notes with the receiving stamp and complete all applicable section of the receiving stamp.
  • Completes receiving report for all materials arriving at the hotel.  Making certain that all are backed up by properly completed and authorized market list, purchase request or other order.
  • Notifies concerned department heads of arriving materials so that items may be removed promptly from receiving area.
  • Checks the price extension and total charge of all handwritten and typed invoices.  Attaches calculator add-tape to each handwritten receipt as proof of verification.
  • Brings all outstanding deliveries, purchase order to Purchasing Manager by daily.
  • It can be a physical role and although there are the usual meetings, briefings and of course reports to run, you will need to be on your feet some of the day out and about in the hotel, so fitness will be key for you, although reasonable adjustments will be made where we can. You will need to speak English for this specific role, and looking at your next move we would love it if you were multi-lingual, but it’s not essential just yet.

What We need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification
  • Two years or more years of experience in the same role or equivalent in a Luxury & Lifestyle hotel
