The Senior Accountant plays a key role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position requires advanced knowledge of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead and mentor junior accounting staff. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with senior management to provide insights on financial performance, help manage complex financial tasks, and ensure the company’s financial integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

2. Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is complete and accurate.

3. Review and reconcile complex financial accounts, resolving discrepancies as needed.

4. Manage and oversee accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions.

5. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis for senior management.

6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.

7. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, supporting their professional development.

8. Coordinate and assist with auditors, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

9. Prepare and file tax returns and other required financial filings in a timely manner.

10. Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

11. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management based on analysis of financial performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, Master’s is a plus (CPA or professional certification).

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience managing or guiding junior staff.

• Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

• High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity with financial data
