The Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Area Manager with technical support from the Research Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning Manager (RMEAL) in the Head Office (HO), the MEAL Coordinator will lead the implementation of Save the Children (SCI) Lebanon’s MEAL plans in their Area Office. At Area Office level, the role holder will have a leading role in the implementation of the standardized MEAL systems and processes. The coordinator works with the project teams for the implementation of projects’ baselines and end-lines, as well as the needed outcome level analysis and will document all project related evidence and learning with technical guidance and direction from the head office. The MEAL Coordinator will work closely with the Head Office MEAL Department, to support accountability to children and communities. 

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

Essential

• University Degree in Data Science, statistics, public health, or equivalent Essential
• Experience and knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and Learning approach and system 
• At least 5 years of related work experience, preferably 3 years within the field of monitoring, evaluation accountability and learning
• Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research and assessments.
• Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent inter-personal and team work skills 
• Proven experience of establishing coordination mechanism 
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent Computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word, and ability to use computer programs to collect, document and analyse data. 
• Excellent presentation skills and use of Power Point.
• Strong skills in undertaking field visits 
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s MEAL approach, aims, values and principles
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English and local Arabic language 

Desirable

• Previous experience with Save the Children programs, within MEAL is a plus. 
• Ability to work in challenging and complex environments.
• Excellent analytical skills particularly in using statistical software such as STATA, SPSS and R
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
