Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting:
• Maintain and supervise the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate posting of journal entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Coordinate with external auditors during audit periods and ensure timely closing of financial years.
2. Manufacturing & Cost Accounting:
• Track and allocate direct and indirect production costs (labor, materials, overhead).
• Manage cost of goods sold (COGS) and ensure accurate product costing, including per gram valuation of gold.
• Monitor variances between standard and actual production costs and investigate discrepancies.
3. Inventory & Metal Control:
• Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials (gold, precious stones, semi-finished goods) and finished jewelry.
• Reconcile physical stock with accounting records, including daily/monthly reconciliation of gold grams and purity.
• Implement and monitor internal controls over inventory and precious metal handling.
4. Compliance & Taxation (Lebanon):
• Ensure full compliance with Lebanese tax laws, including VAT, income tax, and tax on salaries.
• Prepare and file all tax and VAT declarations and VAT.
• Manage NSSF submissions and ensure accurate calculation and payment of social security contributions.
5. Treasury & Banking:
• Supervise accounts payable and receivable cycles, manage vendor and customer payments.
6. Internal Controls & Systems:
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls over all accounting and financial operations.
• Support ERP/accounting software implementation and data accuracy.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. Master’s or CPA/CA is a plus.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in precious metals or jewelry sector is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Lebanese tax law, NSSF, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High ethical standards, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
