Job Description

Position Title: Financial Analyst

Reports to: Financial Controller

Unit / Division / Department / Section: Finance / Accounts

JOB PURPOSE:

Assist in the development of the Group's financial policies by performing financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making. Contribute to the creation and improvement of systems and processes that enhance the organization's internal controls and governance. Identify weaknesses in existing processes and report findings to the line manager for corrective action.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Policy & Procedures:

• Document financial protocols for the Group and implement a financial reporting system to ensure adherence
• Ensure compliance with Group financial policies and procedures by executing transactions in a controlled and consistent manner

Cost, profits and Working Capital

• Monitor raw material consumption across plants and report variances against standards
• Track inventory levels across plants and highlight deviations from set thresholds in line with the inventory management policy
• Assess local purchases at units, identifying any policy deviations, price escalations compared to past trends, and market fluctuations.
• Analyse Accounts Receivables across geo-markets, reporting on total AR, overdue amounts, and DSO trends, highlighting any concerning patterns.

• Evaluate Gross Profit by project, comparing actual vs. booked figures and reporting variances with supporting reasons/justifications

Controls and Compliances:

• Analyse transactions across units for adherence to the authority matrix and report any deviations
• Review Business Partner onboarding to ensure compliance with policy and report any deviations.
• Identify and report significant control deficiencies, including purchases lacking minimum quotations, after-the-fact POs, and invoices without POs.

• Analyse manual transactions and flag instances where approvals were bypassed

The Financial Analyst has no decision-making authority. As per the Financial Authority Matrix for Authority Levels (FAM), the Financial Analyst is not authorized to commit the Group to any financial liability

Skills

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
• Certification in Data Analytics is an added advantage.

Preferred Experience:

• 3-5 years of previous accounting and/ or financial experience
• Experience in the manufacturing sector preferred.

Job-Specific Skills:

• Strong Excel modelling skills
• Exposure to ERP computer systems

• Communication and inter-personnel skills.
