Responsibilities

Maintain accurate fixed asset registers, ensuring all additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation entries are recorded correctly and on time.

Track and reconcile inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, stock adjustments, and physical counts.

Monitor inventory variances and investigate discrepancies, proposing corrective actions to prevent future issues.

Coordinate periodic physical counts for assets and inventory, and reconcile physical counts with accounting records.

Prepare asset capitalization, disposal, and depreciation schedules in line with company policy and relevant accounting standards (e.g., IAS 16).

Collaborate with the procurement, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure accurate inventory flow and documentation.

Support month-end and year-end closing by providing accurate inventory and fixed asset reports, journal entries, and reconciliations.

Assist in audits by providing detailed schedules and documentation related to assets and stock.

Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies for safeguarding assets and inventory.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2–4 years of experience in inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, or general accounting.

Solid understanding of accounting principles for assets and inventory (e.g., depreciation, capital expenditures, stock valuation).
