Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. The role involves preparing financial statements, overseeing general ledger activities, supporting audits, and providing financial analysis to aid management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Manage general ledger entries, - - reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.

- Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and local accounting regulations.

- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries.

- Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation and analysis.

- Analyse financial data and provide insights for budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

- Supervise and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance and training.

- Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements to strengthen processes.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred).

- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role.

- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and tax regulations.

- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems).

- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
