About Us:

We are a newly established engineering and construction startup based in Riyadh, KSA, focused on delivering innovative, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure solutions. As we build the foundation of our company, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Accountant who can play a key role in setting up and managing our financial systems from the ground up.

Job Description:

We are looking for a hands-on Accountant to join our core team and help establish the financial framework of our startup. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up accounting procedures, handling daily financial operations, and ensuring full compliance with local regulations. This role requires initiative, independence, and a strong understanding of accounting in the construction and engineering industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and implement accounting systems, chart of accounts, and internal controls from scratch
• Develop and document accounting policies and procedures tailored to a startup environment
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, general ledger, AP/AR, and payroll coordination
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Handle bank reconciliations and cash flow management
• Work with external auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities
• Monitor project budgets, cost tracking, and expense reporting for engineering/construction activities
• Ensure compliance with ZATCA (Saudi VAT regulations), zakat, and other local financial laws
• Coordinate with project and operations teams for financial planning and cost control
• Assist management with financial forecasting and business planning

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience (preferably in construction/engineering firms or startups)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost control, and budgeting in project-based businesses
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar)
• Knowledge of Saudi financial regulations, VAT, zakat, and labor cost structures
• Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)
• Self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment
