Job Description

Job Title: General Accountant

Company: BM Egypt Trade
Location: Almaza, Masr El Gededa, Cairo – Egypt
Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Friday off)

Job Summary:

The General Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Egyptian accounting standards and regulations. The role involves preparing financial statements, handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, managing payroll, and supporting management with financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Record and maintain all financial transactions in the accounting system (Odoo ERP).

Prepare journal entries, general ledger postings, and reconciliations.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a monthly basis.

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Handle payroll preparation and ensure compliance with tax and social insurance regulations.

Monitor and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.

Ensure compliance with Egyptian accounting and tax regulations.

Maintain proper filing and documentation of all financial records.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3–5 years of proven experience as an Accountant in Egypt.

Strong knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards, tax laws, and social insurance regulations.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel in particular) and Odoo ERP.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in trading or industrial companies.

Familiarity with VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax in Egypt.

Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team.
