About GSG

Gaza Sky Geeks (GSG) is Gaza’s first and only innovation hub and start-up accelerator, operated by Mercy Corps (MC), an international non-profit relief and development organization that has been implementing programs in the occupied Palestinian territories since the 1980s. GSG was founded by Mercy Corps in partnership with Google.org in 2011 to transform Gaza’s most talented youth into the Middle East’s future technology leaders and realize Gaza’s potential as a regional start-up hub.

In addition to running tech ecosystem activities and outreach events, GSG offers a co-working hub, as well as incubation and acceleration programs. Beginning in 2017, GSG also launched two new programming verticals under its brand.

Introduction to the Freelance Club

The online Freelance Club is a specialized training program designed to equip participants with the skills, tools, and practical experience needed to succeed in the digital freelance marketplace. Through a combination of interactive workshops, mentorship, and hands-on practice, participants learn how to build strong professional profiles, deliver quality work, and connect with global clients.

The training not only enhances participants' portfolios and soft skills but also empowers individuals to generate sustainable income opportunities online. By fostering a supportive learning community and providing continuous guidance, the Freelance Club helps participants overcome barriers, expand their networks, and confidently establish themselves as freelancers.

The training also emphasizes professionalism, time management, and quality standards to ensure participants can build sustainable freelance careers.

Scope of Work

Program: Freelance Club 2025 – Gaza Sky Geeks (GSG) 

Position: Freelance Training Assistant

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Logistical Training Support

• Support the coordination and delivery of virtual sessions, including sharing schedules, session details, and tracking attendance.
  
  
• Provide technical and logistical assistance to ensure the smooth operation of online sessions.
  
  
• Monitor participant engagement, address technical issues, and support breakout room activities as needed.
• Assist in any community program activity related to online support. 

Participant Assistance

• Share recorded sessions through the communication channels according to GSG team guidance.
  
  
• Follow up on and respond to participants’ requests through online communication channels.
• Assist the participants in any activity related to the community program.
  

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain records of training activities, materials, and attendance.
  
  
• Provide regular updates and reports on training progress to the program team.
  
  
• Prepare documents and paperwork in accordance with GSG guidance.
  
  
• Attend biweekly meetings with the GSG team.

Deliverables

Attendance Sheets

• Track participant attendance for all online sessions.
  

Progress Reports

• Provide regular updates on participant engagement and technical issues.
  
  
• Highlight any challenges, feedback, or areas requiring GSG support.
  

Bi-Weekly Check-Ins

• Attend scheduled check-in meetings with the GSG team to discuss training progress.
  
  
• Share updates, provide feedback, and address any ongoing technical or logistical challenges.
  

Timeline & Duration

• Training: starting from 25/09/2025, the duration 6 months
  
  
• Level of Effort (LoE): The assistant is expected to dedicate up to 320 hours across the two cohorts. This includes preparation, session support, follow-up, reporting, and coordination tasks.
  

Freelance Training Assistant Qualifications

• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in any specialization.
  
  
• Has worked as a freelancer for more than 2 years in any specialization.
  
  
• Demonstrates good performance on freelance platforms such as Mostqel, Upwork, or Fiverr.
  
  
• Graduated from the Gaza Sky Geeks Freelance Academy program.
• Preferably to be in the Gaza location.
  

Terms of Payment

• The total quoted amount shall be inclusive of VAT and stated in USD.
  
  
• Payment will be issued in phases, each following the completion of 60 hours of service. For each payment, a completed and signed service completion report, along with a financial claim or invoice and a timesheet, is required.
  
  

10% income tax will be deducted from the invoice amount if a valid Deduction at Source Certificate is not available.
