As a federally owned enterprise, we support the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. We are also engaged in international education work around the globe.

In order to support the Risk Management Office and Finance Department at the GIZ Country Office, we are

looking for a full-time position (40% RMO and 60% Office)

 “Accounting Specialist”

Tasks and Functions include but are not limited to:

For the Country Office 60%

  •    Reviewing and processing of office and projects payments in accordance with GIZ rules and                 regulations.
  •    Recording transactions on the WINPACCS Bankbook.
  •    Coordination with the suppliers and internal staff for collecting payments.
  •    Handling the house rent payments for all EHs.
  •    Communicate with the bank on related issues, such as adding/removing signatories, opening/closing
  •    accounts, requesting cheque books, etc.
  •    Conducting monthly bank reconciliations.
  •    Arrange for the reporting and payment of suppliers’ tax deductions, including the reporting on the         Ministry of Finance portal.
  •    Handling the proper storing and archiving of vouchers files.

For the RMO 40%

  • Asset Management.
  • Basic Finance Management (follow up on monthly expenditures, budget implementation).
  • Assure overall smooth administration and compliance with GIZ PuR.
  • Support to the AV with basic procurement procedures.

Other duties/additional tasks

▪   Accounting Specialist performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.

 متطلبات الوظيفة

Required qualifications, competences and experience:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Very good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping and understanding of financial planning an      monitoring.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant computer applications (e.g. MS Office tools, SAP).
  • Very good command of English language. Knowledge of German language would be an asset.
  • Multi-tasker, fast learner, flexible, and team player.
