About the job
UAQ is seeking a highly qualified Governance & Compliance Manager to lead the organization’s efforts in establishing and maintaining effective governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring that UAQ operates in full adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will play a critical part in identifying risks, supporting audit processes, and driving a strong culture of compliance and ethical conduct across the institution.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain governance and compliance frameworks.
- Assess and document risks and controls across various business functions
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards (Internal and External regulations). Stay updated on regulatory changes and their impact on the organization.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines related to governance, and compliance to ensure effective oversight and management of organizational activities.
- Conduct Compliance risk assessments and compliance reviews to identify potential areas of risk and non-compliance. Develop and recommend mitigation strategies and action plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams to establish and maintain effective control measures.
- Provide training and support on governance, and compliance requirements.
- Design and deliver training programs for employees on compliance and governance issues. Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the organization.
- Prepare detailed reports on compliance status, compliance reviews findings, and compliance risk resistors and maintain records related to governance and compliance activities.
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field from a competitive university. Certified in Governance & Compliance (e.g., GRCP, GRCA, CCO,). A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of [7-10] years of experience in governance, compliance, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing complex governance & compliance programs.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, compliance standards, and governance management principles. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex regulations. Proficiency in using GRC management software and tools.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (Arabic & English). Ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
