We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The General Accountant will collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and assist in budget preparation and forecasting. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our financial operations and supporting strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with local and international accounting standards.
2. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
3. Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
4. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support financial planning.
5. Conduct regular audits of financial processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with internal controls.
6. Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
7. Prepare and submit tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
8. Maintain organized financial records and documentation, ensuring easy access for audits and reviews.
9. Provide financial analysis and reporting to management, highlighting key trends and variances.
10. Support the finance team in various ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Proven experience as a General Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
3. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
5. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
6. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
8. Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
9. Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations is highly desirable.
10. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on industry trends.
