Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in UAE accounting practices, especially in real estate and investment-related businesses. The ideal candidate must be able to understand the full accounting cycle, analyse trial balances, review historical balances, and prepare accounts up to finalization level. Only candidates currently available in Dubai with minimum 5 years of UAE accounting experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Daily Operations

• Oversee day-to-day accounting for multiple entities, including sales, purchases, expenses, bank transactions, rent income, and petty cash.

• Verify daily transactions submitted from stores/units and follow up on discrepancies.

• Track and coordinate tenant payments, security deposits, rent invoicing, and cash deposits.

• Review supplier/vendor invoices, prepare payments (cheques/transfers), and maintain accurate payment records.

• Issue LPOs based on approved quotations and maintain proper documentation.

Reconciliations

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.

• Reconcile supplier ledgers, tenant ledgers, intercompany accounts, and general ledger balances.

• Verify credit card settlements, refunds, and deposit records.

Trial Balance Review & Finalization

• Independently review and analyse trial balances for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.

• Identify errors, mismatches, old balances, and unadjusted entries, and make the necessary corrections.

• Review historical accounting entries and balances carried forward from previous periods and ensure proper adjustments.

• Prepare books of accounts up to finalization level.

• Coordinate directly with auditors for annual audits, turnover audits, and other required reviews.

Retail & FMCG Accounting

• Handle accounting for retail sales, promotions, discounts, returns, and loyalty programs.

• Monitor margin analysis, cost of goods sold (COGS), and stock variances.

• Support pricing, SKU-level profitability tracking, and category-level financial reviews.

• Manage logistics-related accounting (freight, clearance, warehousing, distribution costs).

• Ensure accurate accounting of expiry-related write-offs, damaged goods, and stock adjustments.

VAT & Corporate Tax

• Prepare and file VAT returns as per UAE FTA guidelines.

• Review VAT treatment across all transactions and support VAT audits.

• Assist with UAE Corporate Tax computations, documentation, and return filing.

• Maintain tax records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly financial reports, cash flow updates, and MIS statements.

• Analyse expenses, revenue trends, outstanding receivables/payables, and financial variances.

• Support management with ad-hoc reports and data analysis.

Other

• Maintain proper filing and document control for all accounting records.

• Perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of UAE accounting experience (mandatory).

• Strong ability to analyse trial balances and prepare accounts up to finalization level.

• Experience in real estate accounting and multi-entity financials preferred.

• Good knowledge of VAT and UAE Corporate Tax.

• Strong skills in reconciliations, audit preparation, and error identification.

• Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software’s.

• Good communication and analytical skills.

• Must be currently based in Dubai and available for a personal interview.
