Organization Background:

Established in 1987, INWRDAM is an autonomous intergovernmental organisation hosted in the Jordanian capital Amman. The organisation operates under the umbrella of the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). It includes 21 countries in its membership, including most countries of the Middle East. It focuses on fostering cooperation in the domain of water resources management by encouraging dialogue, developing research projects, and generating ideas for new policy development.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in accounting.
  • Minimum two (3) years of prior professional experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international environment (NGOs and international organizations).
  • Experience working with donors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all financial transactions under the supervision of the Financial Manager and Audit Section.
  • Preparing budget forecasts.
  • Entering accounting entries through the accounting systems.
  • Processing tax payments and returns.
  • Project finance management and donor reporting within an NGO environment.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Working on multiple projects without loss of effectiveness.
  • Produce monthly reporting as required by the project(s) as, ensuring accuracy through the actions above and adherence to donor requirements always. The same to be shared with the Financial Manager.
  • Develop and keep all financial documents to maintain accurate and timely book-keeping and its availability upon request.
  • Reconcile all project balance sheet accounts every month.
  • Produce financial analysis as required by the project team to assist decision-making.
  • Respond to donor questions regarding financials at any time and as required.
  • Enter all transactions relating to projects onto the accounting system in a timely manner.
  • To ensure complete accuracy of all finance transactions related to the project and to manage all financial aspects of projects from budget preparation to project closure.

Skills:

  • Excellent command of English, in both oral and written communication.
  • Ability to coordinate, communicate, listen, consult and share information and ideas.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to identify and analyses key points in verbal and numerical information.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer - Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • High degree of responsibility, integrity and discretion.
  • Flexibility, initiative, capacity to work under pressure and to respond quickly to new requests.
  • Capacity to follow rules and procedures.
  • Experience in international projects is an asset.
