الوصف: 

SOS Children’s Villages has zero-tolerance policy towards sexual exploitation, harassment, abuse, fraud, and corruption, among other safeguarding aspects. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ensure the accurate classification of the documents entered into the income and expenditure accounts, and the closure of the specific financial reports; reports to the Finance and Controlling Manager on all deviations and corrections; Attends briefings on financial reporting specific to the projects he/she is involved in; He/she gets involved in filling in the documentation required for the procurement activities according to the specifications of each project; Maintains a permanent liaison with the members of the implementation team and requests information, whenever necessary, for the accurate, complete and timely preparation of the financial reports specific to the projects; Submits information, whenever necessary, to the project managers about the budget situation, the planned and spent resources, the rest to be spent; Contributes with recommendations to address the differences between the planned and actual budget spending, per project;
  • Performs monthly reviews of the accounting records to ensure their closure with supporting documents; Performs calculation of the monthly salaries, and generates and submits the related declarations/statements to authorities;
  • Records the expense reports and regularly reviews them to make sure these close, relying on supporting documents;
  • Correctly and timely enters all financial and accounting documents, including any statistical data, into NAVISION;
  • Is Responsible for the monthly closure from and accounting point of view, as well as for the generation of the synthetic trial balance; reports to the Finance and Controlling Manager on all deviations and means to address them;
  • Controls how the budget is spent across the association, and reports on all deviations, proposing corrective and other measures intended to render more efficient the current cost structure of the organization to the Finance and Controlling Manager/Programme Directors/Programme Accountants;
  • Provides, together with the Finance and Controlling Manager, the analysis of the acquisitions investments, as well as advice to the Programme Accountants/Directors regarding the accounting and tax regime of the acquisitions; gets involved in reporting on the impact of these acquisitions on the present and future financial statements of the organization;
  • Sees that:the procedure devised for the review and approval of the supporting documents showing the purchases of goods and services is followed with a view to preventing that no goods and services which have not been acquired or effectively rendered are entered in the accounting records, and to making sure that only the consideration of the budgeted goods and services is recorded; Thus, he/she sees that:
    • accuracy of drawing up, and registration of the related amounts;
    • the contractual provisions laid down in the contract for acquisition of the goods and services concluded by the organization with different partners are complied with;
    • compliance with the amounts provided in the income and expenditure budgets across the organization, programmes, departments and projects;
  • Gets is involved in development and implementation of the accounting/financial/ internal control procedures for the entire organization;
  • Provides support to the Finance and Controlling Manager in carrying out internal/external audits within the organization;
  • Provides the accounting work within the National Coordination Office, including for the necessary reporting and filing to the local authorities;
  • Consolidates and controls the Navision and Ciel data for the entire organization;
  • Ensures the correct recording of the amounts received from the external sponsors, according to the procedures of the federation and in compliance with the domestic legislation;
  • Draws up various financial reports, using data extracted from the accounting system and other operational reports;
  • Provides tax support and advice to the member of the management team and the peer accounting co-workers in various sites;
  • Identifies and proposes ways to improve financial analysis and reporting process;
  • Is responsible for the accuracy of the accounting records for all the transactions carried out by the organization;
  • Ensures the correct application of the asset inventorying procedure in the sites of SOS Children's Villages Lebanon
  • Regularly checks for amendments of the NGO, accounting and tax legislation; takes part in implementation of the amendments occurred in the accounting and tax legislation;
  • Abides by the rules of conduct, confidentiality, professional ethics, hygiene, occupational health&safety and fire safety in the work place;
  • Replaces the team members on leave or out of office by taking over their duties delegated by the Finance and Controlling Manager; carries out any other job-related duties at the request of the line manager;
  • Is responsible, according to the work procedures, for maintaining in good conditions all the goods entrusted by the company as working tools;
  • Is responsible for compliance with the work procedures and processes, the internal regulations, the code of conduct, the rules and instructions issued, as well as the legislation in force applicable to the scope of the work he/she rendered.
  • Child & Adult, Funds & Asset Safeguarding:
    • Comply with the Code of Conduct, Child and Youth Safeguarding Regulation and Policy, Misconduct Incident Management Regulation; The Sexual Misconduct regulation (Prevention and protection against sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, PSHEA), Anti-Corruption Regulation and follows all reporting and responding procedures.
    • Responsible within own area of work to raise awareness of the child & adult principles and to prevent and protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination,
    • Responsible within own area of work to raise awareness of the funds and assets safeguarding to maintain the highest standards of integrity, ethical conduct and professionalism.
    • Supports programmes/projects in preventing and mitigating child & adult safeguarding risks for children & adults and in planning and providing rehabilitation support in child & adult abuse incidents.
    • Supports programmes/project in preventing and mitigation risks of corruption.
    • Reports immediately any child & adult, funds & asset safeguarding suspicion, concern, allegation or incident following Misconduct Incident Management Regulation.

This position involves working with an NGO committed to children and human rights and is subject to strict safer recruitment checks. The successful candidate will be required to complete safer recruitment checks including criminal record and reference checks to help verify their suitability to work for SOS Children’s Villages. In addition to assessing candidates' ability to perform the duties of the post, in  the selection process will be also explored the motivation and approach of the candidate to safeguarding
