We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our dynamic team in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This position requires a strong grasp of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as the ability to analyze complex financial data to drive organizational success. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading a team of finance professionals and collaborating with various departments to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and variance reporting to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to align financial goals with business objectives.
- Manage cash flow and working capital, optimizing the company's financial position.
- Coordinate and support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular financial reports for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Preferred Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax laws.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing finance teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
