2. Position Summary
Juzoor invites applications for the position of Finance Officer, who will be responsible for managing core financial functions, ensuring sound financial planning and reporting, and supporting fiscal accountability across the organization’s programs. The Finance Officer plays a key role in budgeting, accounting, financial analysis, and compliance, and acts as a strategic partner to program and senior management decision-making.
3. Key Responsibilities
Under the BMZ Project, this position requirements:
- Include explicit donor-funded project finance responsibilities, such as project-based budgeting, expenditure tracking, and donor financial reporting.
- Include budget control and verification duties, ensuring expenditures comply with project budgets, donor eligibility rules, and internal authorization procedures.
- Include cash flow and liquidity management, including forecasting, bank balance monitoring, and tracking donor disbursements.
3.1 Financial Management
- Lead the preparation, monitoring, and forecasting of budgets to ensure organizational resources are effectively aligned with operational needs.
- Oversee accurate recording of financial transactions, including general ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, and reconciliations.
- Ensure month-end and year-end financial procedures are completed accurately and on time.
- Administer monthly and four-weekly payroll and related reporting, ensuring timeliness and compliance.
- Manage petty cash and perform timely reconciliations.
3.2 Reporting and Compliance
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, statements, and summaries (e.g. balance sheets, income & expenditure reports) for management, donors, and auditors.
- Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies.
3.3 Transaction Processing
- Process supplier and customer invoices, ensuring goods/services are received prior to payment.
- Prepare and code purchase orders, supplier invoices, and delivery documentation.
- Regularly bank cash, cheques, donations, and other receipts, ensuring appropriate documentation.
3.4 Financial Advice and Analysis
- Provide financial analysis, interpretation of trends, and forecasting to support program officers and senior leadership.
- Offer sound advice on financial risks, cash flow, and budgeting decisions.
3.5 Data and Record Management
- Maintain well-organized financial files, spreadsheets, and data systems.
- Respond promptly to financial inquiries from staff, partners, and stakeholders.

5. Reporting and Level of Responsibility
- Reports to: Administration & Finance Senior Officer
- Liaises with: Program teams, field offices, project partners, and external stakeholders
6. Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CMA) is an advantage.
- Minimum four (4) years of professional experience in finance, preferably within an NGO or development context.
- Proven ability to manage financial systems, budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively represent Juzoor and communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
