Internship Description

• Analyze and monitor cost expenditures and recommend cost-saving measures to improve organizational profitability.
• Prepare detailed cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to support management in strategic decision-making.
• Maintain and update cost accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and validate cost allocations for various projects and departments.
• Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting of materials and supplies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial planning by providing detailed cost analysis and projections.
• Review and analyze production costs, overhead, and labor to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries and reconciling cost accounts.
• Develop and implement cost control procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by management.

Internship Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years and up to 10 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
