Job Description

Job Summary

General Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the preparation of financial reports & recording all bank-related financial transactions, ensuring accurate reconciliation of bank accounts. 

This role ensures compliance with accounting standards and company policies while assisting management with financial analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Prepare accounts payable and accounts receivable records 
• Prepare periodic supplier statements and reconciliation reports.
• Track issued cheques and supplier settlements.
• Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
• Record and monitor all bank transactions and movements
•  Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
•  Prepare bank-related journal entries and adjustments
•  Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
•  Support internal and external audits by providing bank documentation
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced office environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
