We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our fish-agriculture company in Dubai/Umm Al Quwain UAE. The ideal candidate will manage all accounting processes, ensure accuracy of financial information, and support the financial operations essential to our business growth and compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including balance sheets and income statements.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support operational planning.
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with auditors during financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Monitor cash flow and bank transactions to maintain financial stability.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in the agriculture or fishery sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and local financial regulations in UAE.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines effectively.

About the Company

Gulf Aquaculture is the trade name for Balghailam Fish Farm LLC. The hatchery facility was established in January 2023 on a private island in Abu Dhabi. It is part of Emirates Consortium LLC (“EmCon”), a UAE Holding Company. Gulf Aquaculture specialises in the production of tropical marine fish, including the Red Snapper (Lutjanus malabaricus), Mangrove Red Snapper (Lutjanus argentimaculatus), and the Orange-spotted Grouper (Epinephelus coioides), supported by a diverse team of multiple international experts.

In 2024, Gulf Aquaculture achieved à significant Milestone by successfully producing orange-spotted grouper larvae and fry for sale to commercial fish farms throughout the Middle East. Currently, the hatchery has a production capacity of two million larvae per year.

The hatchery facility is equipped with modern infrastructure, including a dedicated water quality and microbiology laboratory capable of conducting a range of tests. Gulf Aquaculture is committed to biosecurity, adhering to stringent protocols to ensure the health and safety of its farmed organisms. The seawater intake system draws from boreholes, providing high-quality sea water while avoiding the need for chemical treatments.

Gulf Aquaculture’s future plans include expanding its facilities in Phase 2 to increase production capacity and enhancing its sustainable practices, positioning it as a leading hatchery in the aquaculture industry in the Gulf region.
