Position: Finance Reporting Specialist

Duty Station: Ramallah

Reporting to: Deputy Finance Manager

Starting Date: As Soon As Possible

Since 2020, WeWorld has rapidly expanded its operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, leading to a need for additional personnel to assist its current emergency operations, and to lead the future expansion in the development area.

Purpose of the Role:

 

The Finance Reporting Specialist is responsible for donor financial reporting and compliance, acting as a key financial focal point for institutional donors (AICS, EU, UN) and project partners, and ensuring effective financial coordination, audit readiness, and sound financial management across the project lifecycle.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Donor Financial Reporting
  • Prepare and submit donor financial reports, in close coordination with the Finance Manager / Deputy Finance Manager, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and donor regulations (AICS, EU, UN)
  • Act as a financial focal point for donors, providing clarifications, follow-ups, and detailed explanations of financial reports, variances, budget changes, and expenditure trends, in coordination with senior finance staff.
  • Monitor and track all donor reporting deadlines, including interim/internal drafts, partner inputs, and final submissions, ensuring timely preparation, internal validation, and delivery of accurate financial reports.
  1. Partner Financial Coordination & Support
  • Coordinate financial reporting processes with project partners, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and internal financial procedures.
  • Provide guidance to partners on financial reporting, eligibility rules, and documentation.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of partners’ financial submissions, checking adherence to internal procedures and project guidelines
  • Act as a financial reference point for partners during audits, financial verifications, and donor reviews, in coordination with senior finance staff
  • Support partner capacity building on donor financial requirements 
  1. Audits & Financial Controls
  • Support the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits, including those required by donors, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time, under the oversight of the Finance Manager / Deputy Finance Manager.
  • Serve as the main liaison for auditors, donors, partners, and internal teams, facilitating smooth and transparent audit processes.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to address audit findings and implement recommended improvements, strengthening financial controls and compliance, in coordination with the Finance Manager / Deputy Finance Manager.
  • Ensure proper organization, filing, and maintenance of all financial documentation, supporting audit readiness and facilitating easy retrieval for internal and donor review
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of internal financial control systems, promoting accuracy, transparency, and alignment with donor requirements.
  1. Project Financial Management & Planning
  • Support monitoring of project budgets and expenditures across projects and partners, ensuring alignment with donor rules and requirements
  • Assist in budget updates, reallocations, and forecasting in coordination with Programme and Finance teams

The duties and responsibilities set forth above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to perform additional duties requested by the Line Manager.

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in same or similar role, preferably in the development/humanitarian sector.
  • Proven experience in donor financial reporting for institutional donors
  • Knowledge of donor compliance frameworks and audit requirements
  • Experience working with partners, including financial reporting and audit processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with financial/accounting systems
  • Fluency in Arabic and English; knowledge of Italian is a plus
  • Prefered Residence in or near the advertised duty station preferable

Willingness to travel to other WeWorld offices in [Hebron/Tubas] upon request
