Job Description

The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. 
This role will also work closely with all departments to establish customer pricing, prepare cost analysis and monthly budget reports.
Maintaining standard costs of raw materials, packaging, machines and finished goods.
Collect cost information and maintain strong database to control expenditures.
Construct systems to accumulate and monitor data.
Determine fixed costs (e.g., salaries, rent and insurance).
Plan and record variable costs (e.g. purchases of raw material and operations costs).
Prepare budgeting reports (for the company and for each department).
Prepare (monthly, quarterly, and annual) cost forecasts and analysis.
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Assisting in month-end and year-end closing.
Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
Identify and recommend cost-effective improvements.
Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
Analyze costing information and collaborate with sales and finance teams to establish customer pricing.
Analyzing inventory valuations.
Monitoring unit cost variance. 
Implementing cost standards for materials and labor.
Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock. Prepare and analyze Finished product costs on a weekly basis and recommend alternatives to improve costs.

Job Requirements

Proven 3-7 years work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role.
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures. 
Experience with ERP systems.
Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Strong time management skills.
Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant study
