Role description:Support the Regional Controller in overview of the month-end closing process as per US GAAP, assist and lead Global initiatives, with a view to continuously review and improve processes to align with best practice and company objectives. Manage the Turkish Controlling and Accounting team and local third party accounting firm, lead and supervise the accounting and internal control activities across the country

This role will be responsible for overseeing the accurate monthly accounting in local systems - performed by local teams - as well as the Group reporting. The role requires a result oriented, strong professional with the ability to understand and apply specific business knowledge in an effort to anticipate potential problems and force timely resolutions. As there is frequent interaction with the Cluster Controlling team and Operational management in English, strong presentation and communication skills in English and Turkish are mandatory.

Responsibilities and skills:Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the field of finance, accounting or controlling. Manage the Country Controlling teams as well as the third party Accounting firm’s work. Drive the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and control processes in compliance with regulations, accounting standards, and internal procedures. Lead the local Controlling and Accounting teams as well as the third party teams, assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and contribute to the professional development of the team,Ensure the month end closing and relevant reporting (monthly, quarterly and annual) is completed in a timely manner within US reporting deadlines for the countries of the Country. Maintain accountability to the Finance Business Partnering group. Perform risk analysis, review and provide recommendations for business process changes necessary to address risks of financial misstatement. Working with local Management, Operations and Controlling and Accounting teams on implementing given changes. Provide support to investigate and resolve accounting issues. Implement and lead regular balance sheet reviews, ensuring accuracy and completeness in the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss (P&L) statements. Ensuring the entity’s results are fully compliant with all aspects of the internal/external SOX and US GAAP and Local GAAP requirements. Ensure finance systems optimization and continuous improvement. Proactively contribute to the development and implementation of the Finance Systems strategy within the framework of the IM global financial systems strategy. Accounting support of Cluster’s M&A activities, due diligence and post-acquisition integration projects relating to financial reporting aspects. Monitoring P2P activities in the country, perform root cause analysis, run continuous improvement projects (working with Finance SSC P2P Lead and Regional P2P Manager) Support capital lease and real estate area, monitor significant or complex transactions and work closely with the global SME groups. Accountable for the creation of the local statutory financial statement, and managing the end-to-end external and internal audits. Support the preparation of the monthly and quarterly submissions to tax authorities (CIT, VAT and local tax reporting)

Qualifications:University or College degree in Finance / Accounting
