LWF Jordan is one of the 25 country programs managed by LWF World Service. This initiative has been operational in Jordan since 2013, serving the community for over a decade. Our primary objective is to assist marginalized communities by strengthening their resilience, and social cohesion, and fostering sustainable livelihoods. We provide protection and humanitarian services across various sectors, including Individual Counseling, Group Therapy, Community-Based Activities, Awareness Raising, Child and Youth Programs, and Capacity Building. LWF Jordan is committed to supporting individuals facing the most challenging circumstances. Scope of Work

The Finance Assistant is responsible for providing financial accountancy and administration Support to the day-to-day management of the finance functions in the LWF Jordan program.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:
 

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Review expense vouchers submitted by requestors to ensure that account codes are correct, the projects still exist and the requests are within the budget lines.
  • Verify that all expense vouchers are properly approved; supported documents are properly organized and stamped with proper stamps
  • Ensure all financial transactions comply with LWF financial policies, donor regulations, and internal control procedures.
  • Review partners’ financial reports along with supporting documentation and prepare the related Journal Vouchers (JVs).
  • Track all the Partner's payments, and reconcile the partner's advances
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Record daily financial transactions in the cash and bank books and ensure proper supporting documentation is attached.
  • Handle the cash box dispersing cash vouchers by the financial manual and policies.
  • Maintain the filing system of the Finance Department both physically and electronically
  • Prepare the cash counts and bank reconciliations and close the monthly accounts.
  • Review the monthly payroll prepared by Senior HR, and ensure that formulas, calculation of income taxes, social security, medical insurance, and other allowances are accurate.
  • Prepare cash requests from the Amman Office and ensure to monitor cash out in the safe.
  • File the payment vouchers in the arch file and ensure that complete supporting documentation is attached.
  • Make sure that payment vouchers are numbered and stamped
  • Ensure that scanned copies of complete supporting documents are kept in the file.
  • Ensure that all staff cash advances are properly reconciled, approved by the line manager, and charged to correct budget lines.
  • Verify the Payment Vouchers' backup (translations, dates, stamps, etc.).
  • Assist the Technical Finance Officer in the preparation of monthly and other financial reports due to LWF Geneva and donors and update of report templates.
  • Assist in sub-grants reviewing for the submitted Monthly report along with having all the adequate backups.
  • Conduct periodic field visits to project locations to verify financial documentation, partner expenditures, and compliance with LWF procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor requests.
     

Other Responsibilities:

·   Carry out any other duties as requested by the Technical Finance Officer within the scope of work.

Professional Standards:
 

The LWF and LWF workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in the Code of Conduct as well as the Core Humanitarian Standard and relevant LWF policies such as Protection from Sexual Abuse, Exploitation and Harassment (PSEAH), Child Protection and Gender Justice Policy. The staff member must conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to the LWF and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.

 

Requirements:

Essential

  • A minimum of a BA in Finance, management, MIS, or any related field.

•  Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in Finance or one year experience with INGO.

•  Good English communication (Verbal & Written).

•  Proven computer literacy, including good knowledge of MS Office.
