Job Purpose
The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The role ensures accurate financial records, assists in financial planning, and helps maintain strong internal controls while contributing to the organization’s financial performance and decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Ensure accuracy of financial data, journal entries, and reconciliations
Review general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
Monitor budget utilization and analyze variances
Assist departments in budget planning and cost tracking
Provide insights and recommendations for cost control
Supervise day-to-day accounting activities (AP, AR, GL, payroll)
Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts
Review and approve transactions within authority limits
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping
Assist in monitoring cash flow and liquidity position
Support bank reconciliations and cash management activities
Ensure timely payments to suppliers and employees
Assist in preparing for internal and external audits
Support implementation of audit recommendations
Assist in tax calculations, filings, and compliance
Ensure timely submission of statutory reports
Support implementation of internal control systems
Identify risks and recommend control improvements
Prepare financial analysis reports for management

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Professional certification
7+ years of experience in finance/accounting
At least 2–3 years in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Leadership and team management skills
