The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the General Ledger function and Chief Accountant team, owning the month-end and year-end close, and acting as the company’s Financial Controller. The role ensures the integrity of financial records, compliance with accounting standards, strong internal controls, and timely, accurate financial reporting. This position partners closely with Finance Operations, Tax, Audit, and senior management to support decision-making and business growth.

General Ledger & Accounting Oversight:

· Lead and manage the General Ledger team and Chief Accountant function

· Ensure accurate posting, reconciliation, and review of all balance sheet and P&L accounts

· Oversee accounting treatment for complex transactions (revenue recognition, accruals, provisions, Intercompany, FX, prepaid and deferred items)

· Maintain and enforce accounting policies and procedures in line with IFRS / local GAAP

Month-End, Quarter-End & Year-End Close:

· Own and drive the full month-end and year-end close process and timelines

· Review and approve all journals, reconciliations, and closing entries

· Ensure timely preparation of financial statements with high accuracy and quality

· Continuously improve close efficiency and reduce closing cycle time

Financial Reporting & Control:

· Act as Financial Controller for statutory and management reporting

· Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

· Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and statutory requirements

· Coordinate statutory audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors

· Address audit findings and implement corrective actions

Internal Controls & Governance:

· Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting

· Ensure segregation of duties and compliance with approval matrices

· Support risk management and compliance initiatives

· Lead documentation and testing of financial controls

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

· Partner with Finance Operations (AP, AR, Treasury) to ensure clean hand-offs into GL

· Work closely with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

· Collaborate with Tax, Legal, and Compliance teams on regulatory matters

· Support ERP implementation, upgrades, and accounting system improvements

Leadership & Team Development:

· Lead, coach, and develop the GL and Chief Accountant teams

· Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance standards

· Ensure knowledge transfer, documentation, and succession planning

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, ACCA, CA preferred)

· 8–12 years of progressive experience in financial accounting and controlling roles
