We are currently partnering with a prominent semi-government real estate developer based in Abu Dhabi and are looking to appoint a Project Accounting Associate

This role supports the financial management of real estate development projects, focusing on accurate cost tracking, transaction processing, and compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations. You will work closely with project and finance teams to ensure proper recording of project costs, revenue recognition, and overall financial performance, while leveraging ERP and AI-enabled systems to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day project accounting activities, including transaction processing and cost allocation
• Track and monitor project costs (construction, consultancy, overheads) and maintain accurate records
• Support revenue recognition and progress billing based on project milestones
• Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and cost summaries for management
• Process contractor invoices, payments, and maintain billing schedules
• Assist in cash flow tracking and forecasting for ongoing projects
• Handle month-end activities such as journal entries and reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, UAE regulations, and internal controls
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (projects, procurement, finance) for accurate financial reporting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4–6 years of accounting experience, with exposure to project accounting or construction/real estate
• Knowledge of IFRS (especially revenue recognition) and UAE regulations
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and strong Excel skills
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CA) is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work in a project-driven environment
