Job description



HR component:

Recruit a team whose attitudes and behaviors are consistent with basic behaviors;

Create a positive social climate that promotes employee contribution and commitment to the company's vision;

Promote the integration of new recruits and their adaptation to the culture of the Mercure Palais des Congrès on the basis of the integration procedure in force;

Establish a documented professional training program;

Provide training for field staff;

Conduct performance evaluation interviews with team members and provide constructive feedback on the basis of each person's strengths and areas for improvement;

Suggest to the HR Director and the Director General proposals for the tenure of staff, based on basic behaviours, skills and potential career plan;

Create career development plans for their team members and assist them in building these plans;

Develop the spirit of initiative and autonomy of its employees;

Implement a succession plan in your department;

Sanction by complying with procedures when necessary;

Internal Client Service:

Create a service culture that encourages team members to implement the brand promise to customers;

Use an entrepreneurial spirit and innovation to improve the customer experience

Operational component:

Draw up the budget of the finance department;

Assist in the establishment of the operational budgets of the various departments and consolidate the final operational budget of the hotel;

Establish the treasury budget;

Establish the renewal budget (FF&E);

Organize P&L (Profit and Loss) meetings as well as credit meetings;

Participate in operations and forecasting meetings;

Create a Crisis Profit Protection Plan;

Supervise and approve all accounting and financial documents and ensure their accuracy and authenticity;

Carry out the strategic studies necessary or that are requested by him/her;

Verify and approve all accounting and bank reconciliations;

Ensure the relationship with the owner company, internal and external audits and auditors for accounting and financial aspects, in conjunction with the hotel's general manager;

Take care of relations with banks, jointly with the financial department of the head office and the management of the hotel, for all financial aspects;

Ensure that budgetary, accounting, administrative and financial controls are respected;

Ensure that the expenditure initiation procedure is followed;

Manage the hotel's cash flow through a monthly budget established for this purpose;

Carry out monthly financial reconciliations;

Sign purchase orders accompanied by purchase requests jointly and before final approval by the hotel manager, then proceed with payments by cheques co-signed with the General Manager;

Check and analyze the monthly balance of debtors before the dedicated periodic meeting;

Oversee periodic and unannounced inventories related to the cash register, F&B, SME, General Store, hotel heavy equipment and maintenance;

Checking and signing the suppliers' aging balance and giving approval for the month's payments;

Sign the recruitment request from the HR department, and check the adequacy with the budget;

Review and approve the payroll journal;

To ensure the proper application of the tax and social laws in force;

Approve tax and social declarations and be responsible for their content and compliance with the deadlines for their submission to the tax authorities;

Manage all insurance policies relating to the operation of the hotel in relation with the competent departments of the head office;

Manage litigation files jointly with the HR department;

Exceptionally and within the framework of his/her duties, carry out specific missions of training, study, supervision, coordination, assistance or control of other establishments in the group (task force);

Ensure that all Accor standards are respected;

Qualifications

Bac+5 in accounting or finance from a Grande Ecole.

Five (5) years of experience as a finance manager in the hospitality industry preferred.

Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.

Team leader capable of inspiring his team and getting them to share the company's vision.

Able to train his team.
