The Director of Finance will oversee the hospital’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, budget management, cost control, and compliance with healthcare financial regulations. This role plays a critical part in guiding financial strategy and ensuring the hospital maintains fiscal health while delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
□ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with international accounting standards.
□ Lead the preparation and consolidation of budgets and forecasts.
□ Monitor actual performance vs. budget and provide variance analysis.
□ Ensure timely closing of accounts and maintain accurate general ledger.
Cost Control & Analysis
□ Analyze hospital service costs, department-wise profitability, and recommend cost reduction strategies.
□ Monitor patient billing, insurance claims, collections, and revenue cycle processes.
□ Supervise inventory valuation for medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
Compliance & Risk Management
□ Ensure adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements, tax laws, and audit standards.
□ Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensure clean audits, and implement recommendations.
□ Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with hospital policies and financial procedures.
Team Leadership
□ Manage and mentor finance and accounting team members.
□ Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and teamwork.
Strategic Support
□ Support senior management with financial models, capital expenditure analysis, and ROI assessments.
□ Assist in decision-making for investments, expansions, or cost-intensive initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
□ Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory. Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
□ 7–10 years of experience in finance, with at least 3–5 years in a healthcare or hospital environment.
□ Strong knowledge of hospital billing systems, insurance claims, DRG/coding, and healthcare cost structures.
□ Excellent understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal control frameworks.
□ Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
□ Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
□ Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred:
□ Familiarity with healthcare regulations and Ministry of Health requirements.
□ Experience with hospital management software’s.
