Job Summary:
The Site Accountant is responsible for managing all financial activities at the project site, including maintaining accurate financial records, controlling site expenses, ensuring compliance with company accounting policies, and providing timely financial reports to management. The role supports effective financial planning, cost control, and transparency across all site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting
Record and monitor all site-level financial transactions.
Prepare reports for head office review.
Ensure timely reconciliation of petty cash, supplier accounts, and site expenses.
Maintain accurate ledgers and documentation for audits and internal checks.
2. Budgeting & Cost Control
Assist the project manager in preparing and monitoring project budgets.
Track and control project costs to prevent budget overruns.
Verify purchase orders, material receipts, and supplier invoices against approved budgets.
Report any financial discrepancies or potential cost overruns immediately.
3. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards.
Maintain complete and organized financial records for site operations.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
Ensure adherence to statutory requirements (taxes, withholding, etc.).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Experience: 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, agriculture, or project-based environments.
Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
